through 2011 and over 500 regional modifiers to use in conjunction with more
than 1,300 historical construction projects included on the NHBCdb
(National Historical Building Cost Database).
Users select a project that is similar to the one they are conceptualizing,
change the bid date and location for a new construction cost estimate.
Users can alter the square footage of the model to fit the size of their new project.
Cost models can be downloaded into an .XLS compatible file for additional customization.
Case studies on D4COST.NET are sold in multiples of 1, 5, 10, 30, etc.
With purchases of 100 case studies or more, users get a free license to D4COST Express
to house the case studies they have purchased on their desktop.

Design Cost Data Subscribers also can access to the NHBCdb on D4COST.NET. Subscribers
of Design Cost Data Magazine can access over 1,300 projects – as seen in DCD – in the NHBCdb™
(National Historical Building Cost Database) for cost modeling, research,
project estimate validation and more. Included in the DCD subscriber side of the NHBCdb are
Design Cost Data Magazine’s proprietary cost indices through 2009 and 50 regional modifiers.
DCD subscribers can use the NHBCdb for cost modeling to a new bid date and location.
Professional reports can be generated, along with a copy of the original article as it appeared
in DCD for additional validation. Data is presented in the CSI Division Format by division total.
DCD subscribers have unlimited access to the NHBCdb for the term of their subscription to DCD magazine.

Published since 1958, Design Cost Data is the nation’s #1 magazine devoted to preliminary cost
estimating. DCD’s philosophy of cost modeling on actual historical construction cost data has
become the industry standard. By using historical cost data and by applying cost factors as cost
escalators and regional modifiers, historical cost data becomes a reliable benchmark for future
construction. Learn more about Design Cost Data Magazine by visiting www.dcd.com.
